This innovative professional development opportunity provides an immersive writing experience within the Sydney Harbour National Park and Q Station. Manly, a unique environment – staying in historic cottages, touring the site, accessing various writing spaces, walking in the footsteps of people who lived and died at the former Quarantine Station.
Teachers will explore and practise different pedagogies for poetry and prose, including group and individual work, drafting, writing, feedback and reflecting. Teachers will also develop their own unit on Writing People and Place and develop an action research project to monitor the impact of writing practice on students within their own context.
